Claudia Pöpsel, formerly a journalist, film distributor, and independent film producer, designed her first piece of jewelry in 2010. What began in her living room continued a year later in her first small workshop around the corner. In 2013, the growing business moved to larger premises. After another move within Berlin in 2019, the company relocated to Oranienburg, just outside Berlin, in 2026. What started as personal sales at markets has become a global online success. More than 650,000 pieces of jewelry have now found their way around the world.

Claudia designs her signature rings, necklaces, bracelets, and earrings exclusively for her own label, Villa Sorgenfrei Schmuckmanufaktur®. The collections, the selection of materials, the meticulous finishing of the jewelry, marketing, shipping, and customer service are all handled by the dedicated small team of this family business.

The Villa Sorgenfrei brand has an international presence. The many 5-star reviews from all over the world show that the name "Carefree" is a promise... :-)!
